Look on this list of
elements as a series of clues toward what attracts me to certain images and what
motivates me to capture and share them.
My work is first and foremost for myself. Living in a modern world, we
are constantly bombarded by images from all directions. Most of them are
painstakingly designed to provoke a particular response in us - most often
desire. I need to contrast that assault with images that remind me of more
fundamental and ultimately more important principles. All of the elements in
this list existed before modernity, technology or even civilization. All of them
are readily accessible in the world outside our chaos.
